The present UK government have been accused of being multi-millionaire elitist toffs who force austerity on the rest of us. A history of private schools, exclusive university clubs and gateway ancestors to the Monarchy only raises questions on their ability to understand the lives of the ordinary people they deem to govern.
[ An ancestor who provides a link to a royal lineage is known as a ‘gateway ancestor’ and we’ll reveal how the top Tory players have them. ]
The Prime Minister :
Whatever went wrong in his particular branch of the tree, David Cameron also has some other family facts that aren’t too well known…
He is the 5th cousin, twice removed of Queen Elizabeth II. This is due to being the great, great, great grandson of Elizabeth Fitzclarence (Jan 17, 1801 – Jan 16, 1856) who was an illegitimate daughter of William IV and his mistress Irish actress Dorothea Bland who was known by her stage name as ‘Mrs Jordan’.
They lived together for 20 years when he was Duke of Clarence and had 5 sons and 5 daughters. When he became heir to the throne William married Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen, but they had no surviving children, so when he died having no legitimate children his niece Victoria became Queen.
To cut a long story short:
William IV is the great, great, great grand-uncle of Queen Elizabeth II.
William IV is also the great, great, great, great, great grandfather of David Cameron.
David Cameron’s personal wealth is estimated at £3.5 million.
Tellingly, one of Mr. Cameron’s own legislators once referred to him and Chancellor George Osborne as ‘‘two posh boys who don’t know the price of milk.’’
Samantha Cameron :
His wife Samantha can also trace her lineage to royalty – also via a mistress. An analysis of her family tree reveals that:
Nell Gwyn, the mistress of Charles II, is Mrs Cameron’s great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandmother.
It means Samantha Cameron is the Queen’s 11th cousin.
Her ancestors were also slave owners, one of whom was William Jolliffe.
The Rev William Jolliffe, of Upper Tilgate, near Crawley in Sussex, was an entrepreneur whose company was responsible for the construction of Waterloo Bridge, Dartmoor Prison and the new London Bridge. He gave it all up for the church and became a vicar.
However, before he embraced the church, he became a beneficiary of slave ownership through complicated legal transactions in which “all claims due” to the failed merchant firm of Inglis Ellice and Co, which held mortgages on properties, were transferred to him.
In connection with this, the Ballenbouche Estate in St Lucia received £4,174, 5s, 8d for 164 slaves, which is about £3.25 million in today’s money.
The Chancellor :
George Gideon Oliver Osborne is the heir to the Osborne Baronetcy of Ballentaylor in County Tipperary, Ireland, as well as a substantial share of Osborne & Little, his father’s luxury wallpaper company.
Despite this, when he was invited into the elitist Bullingdon Club at Oxford because of his family wealth, he was nick-named ‘Oik’ due to the crime of having attended only St Paul’s – Britain’s third most expensive public school, not Eton or Harrow.
Oik is well in with old boys network however, one of his longest standing friends being Nat Rothschild.
The closeness between Osborne and the Rothschild family is shown by Lady Serena Rothschild, Nathaniel’s mother. She funded Osborne’s Westminster office and team of researchers when he was in opposition. With connections like these, who needs a gateway ancestor to royalty?
George Osbourne’s personal wealth is estimated at £4.3 million.
The Mayor Of London :
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson – known to the rest of us the bumbling Tory buffoon Boris Johnson, was also a member of Oxford’s Bullingdon Club.
It was recently revealed that Johnson’s paternal grandmother, Yvonne Eileen Williams – affectionately known by the family as “Granny Butter” – was a descendant of Prince Paul Von Wurttemberg, a German prince.
He, in turn, was a direct descendant of George II – making the 18th century king Johnson’s great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather.
By this discovery, Johnson is distantly related not just to the present British Royal Family but to the Swedish and Dutch royal families and to the Romanoffs.
Boris Johnson’s personal wealth is estimated at £38 million in combined earnings.
Accusations of this government of being out-of-touch with the man-on-the-street are hardly debunked by recent revelations made in the press.
David Cameron’s boasting of being born with ‘2 silver spoons in his mouth’ won’t do much to quell the rising tide of resentment across the UK, due to Tory cuts levelled on the poor and sanctions against those on state benefits.
